The FPÖ’s foreign policy spokeswoman, Susanne Fürst, was in Washington when Donald Trump was sworn in, as a video from the party broadcaster shows. In the FPÖ TV video, Fürst initially apologizes for her absence from the New Year’s meeting, but at least she has a very good excuse, after all, she is in the US capital on behalf of federal party chairman Herbert Kickl, one of “the few European politicians who “was invited to Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremonies”. Fürst claims that only a few other politicians from the far-right EU faction “Patriots for Europe” were given this honor.
