Peter Žiga (Voice-SD), Deputy Chairman of the National Council (NR), entrusted with its management, ended the extraordinary meeting on Tuesday afternoon regarding the opposition’s motion of no confidence in the government. The parliament did not even vote on the proposal. Žiga ended the meeting considering that the proponents withdrew the proposal.
The opposition is already announcing that it wants to collect signatures to call another meeting to dismiss the government. The extraordinary meeting on the dismissal of Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) began on Tuesday morning. After the speech of PS leader Michal Šimečka and Fico, it continued in secret mode because the prime minister requested it. Subsequently, at a closed meeting, he presented a report containing classified facts. It was supposed to be information related to the destabilization of the country. The opposition criticized the course of the negotiations. She wanted parliament to have a proper public debate on her proposal and the government’s failures.
