Chinese President Xi Jinping had a video call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Tuesday. The Russian president highlighted the relations between the two countries and emphasized that they do not depend on global developments, TASR writes, according to a report by the TASS agency.
“We build our ties on the basis of friendship, mutual trust, support, equality and mutual benefit. These ties are self-sufficient, they do not depend on domestic factors or current global developments,” Putin emphasized. “Their comprehensive strengthening is in line with the goal of ensuring the integrated development of Russia and China and improving the well-being of both countries,” he added.
According to Si, the Chinese authorities are ready to move relations with Russia to a new higher level in 2025. In the interview, he specified that Beijing intends, together with Moscow, to “fight external uncertainty and at the same time stick to stability”. China will strive to maintain stable Sino-Russian relations “for the sake of the development and prosperity of the countries”, added Xi.
