An international report carried out by real-time payments company ACI Worldwide, in a report produced with consultancy GlobalData, brought to light a worrying prediction for the instant payment system on , known as . According to the study, those associated with this system are expected to increase fivefold over the next three years, resulting in significant losses for bank customers, which could reach R$11 billion.

The report, which analyzed the six largest global real-time payments markets, including Brazil, , , , and , highlighted Brazil as the leader in projected losses due to financial fraud, with an estimated US$1.937 million by 2028.

The growth of instant payments, although it brings convenience and speed, has been accompanied by an alarming increase in fraud, both in Brazil and in other countries.
