The act of a thirteen-year-old student who tried to shoot a teacher at the primary school in Rudolfov in the South Bohemian Region on Monday is being investigated by the police as another criminal act on suspicion of attempted murder. Spokeswoman Štěpánka Schwarzová stated this on the police website, saying that based on a court order, the student is in a diagnostic institute, informs TASR reporter.
On the basis of a notification received on the police emergency line, all available police patrols went to the school building before 9:30 a.m. on Monday. “At the school, the police officers and criminal investigators discovered that a thirteen-year-old student of the seventh grade threatened his classmates and the teacher with a firearm. No shots were fired, no one was injured. The student was pacified by the teacher herself in the classroom before the police arrived“, Schwarzová described the situation.
In addition to the firearm, he also brought an ax and a knife to school. He pulled the trigger on the gun twice, but it did not fire. According to initial information, it was fully functional, but the student apparently did not know how to handle it properly. According to the Novinky.cz server, he allegedly took her to his grandfather, but the police refused to comment.
The Novinky.cz server also claims that the student had no serious problems with aggression before this act. The school management has not yet commented on the situation. According to police spokeswoman Schwarz, his motive was apparently problematic relationships with classmates. Since the student has not yet reached the age limit of 15 years, from which he would be legally responsible, he does not face prison for this act.
