There are no chewing gums on the floor here and the reason is in the packaging [vídeo]

While walking on the street, especially during periods when there is less street lighting, you have certainly stepped on a piece of gum hidden among the cobblestones. Your feet are stuck to the floor and the difficult part is completely removing the insert from your shoe. However, if you go to Japan, it is unlikely that you will have a similar experience, as there is no chewing gum scattered on the ground. The reason is “hidden” in the packaging.

In a video published on the social network TikTok, a young Spanish man who visited Japan revealed an unprecedented situation, which allows the streets to be cleaner than Portuguese ones, in terms of the presence of gum on the floor.

The reason is “hidden” in the packaging

Contrary to what we see here, in Japan, chewing gum packages are sold with a small block of leaves inside.

The quote from the Spanish tiktoker, who says that the sheets that come inside the packaging are used to roll up the tablet, after it is used. Therefore, there is a way for them to store the used tablets until they find a trash can nearby, so they end up not throwing them on the ground.

These papers prevent tablets from sticking to surfaces and that is why it is so rare to find tablet remains in Japan.

For now, in Portugal there are still no tablets packaging with these blocks of leaves inside. Therefore, to avoid throwing your used gum on the floor, always have a tissue or a small sheet of paper to store the chewing gum until you find a trash can.
