- Jaworzyna Krynicka, Krynica-Zdrój. This year’s ranking starts with a resort where snow cover lasts for up to five months of the year. The perfectly prepared slopes were appreciated by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), which chose this place as the venue for the Snowboard World Cup in 2024. It is worth emphasizing that Jaworzyna Krynicka is currently considered one of the best prepared infrastructures for winter sports in our country, thanks to the implementation of millions of investments. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy modern chairlifts, improved lighting and a modernized snow removal system. What remains unchanged are the stunning views of the Eastern Tatras, Leluchowskie Mountains, Beskid Sądecki and the Bieszczady Mountains. These can be admired from a 360° platform located at an altitude of 1,122 m above sea level. Both advanced and beginner lovers of two boards can enjoy this place. There are a total of 12 tracks and 14 kilometers of slopes waiting for them, including 4 with FIS homologation, as well as a timed slalom track, a skicross track 900 meters long and 7 meters wide, and a completely new, 3.5-kilometer forest ski slope.
- Zieliec Sports Arena. The largest ski resort in the Sudetes and a unique Alpine microclimate. This is how another distinguished center on the list could be summed up in one sentence. Snow lasts here for up to 150 days a year, and thanks to the introduction of technologically advanced Demaclenko snow factories at the end of 2024, winter here lasts until spring. Ski resorts connected by one ski pass stretch on the picturesque slopes of the Orlické and Bystrzyckie Mountains. Among the routes with a total length of 23 km, easy and recreational ones predominate, and Zieleniec Sport Arena is considered one of the best places for the first “slides” on snow. However, adrenaline hunters should not give up on Lower Silesia. For those looking for more thrills, there are wide and steep red slopes where you can try carving, as well as a snow park with a snowcross track – the only one of its kind in Poland. It is impossible not to mention the greatest attraction of the resort – the first Skyway Express cable car in Poland, which you can travel on a 6-person couch or in an 8-person gondola.
- Szczyrk Mountain Resort. This largest winter sports center in the Beskids is also the largest investment in ski infrastructure in Poland this century. From this season, visitors can use the modern Dynafit Ski Tour Center, new routes and the Gopass Cashback loyalty program – goX and the Gopass Ski Flexi Season Pass. The resort stretching on the slopes of the peaks Małe Skrzyczne 1,211 m above sea level and Wierch Pokrzywne 1,000 m above sea level offers a total of 23 km of slopes of varying difficulty, including 5 km of illuminated ones. It is worth mentioning that Szczyrk has been cooperating with the Beskid Sport Arena and the Central Sports Center for several seasons, which gives winter enthusiasts over 40 km of routes on a common ski pass. For snowboarders and skiers, there is a parking lot with 700 spaces, an equipment rental combined with a service, as well as the “Kuflonka” restaurant in Hala Skrzyczeńska, the Apres Ski bar and the “Chill Bar pod Gondola”.
- Czarna Góra Resort. Czarna Góra Resort is a year-round mountain resort located in the picturesque Śnieżnik massif, just 120 kilometers from Wrocław. It offers 20 ski slopes of varying difficulty, including gently sloping slopes for beginners and red and black trails for more experienced skiers. The routes are groomed twice a day and are FIS approved. Guests have access to one of the fastest cable cars in Poland – Luxtorpeda. This modern, 6-seater sofa is loved not only for its speed, but also for its wind-protecting cushions and heated seats. The cable car designed by Leitner Ropeways with a capacity of 3,000 people per hour, 1,358 m in length and a 375 m level difference is not inferior to two 4-person cable cars, including the one leading straight to Żmijowiec, and four BabyLift lifts.
- PKL Kasprowy Wierch. Kasprowy Wierch is an iconic place for skiing enthusiasts, located in the Tatra Mountains. The highest located ski resort in Poland (up to 1,959 m above sea level), and therefore an iconic mountain among Polish skiers. Although the queue for the gondola lift leading to the peak can be long, panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains and valleys of the Tatra National Park fully compensate for the waiting time. The journey by the only high-mountain cable railway in Poland takes about a dozen or so minutes. In winter, the carriages carry up to 60 people at a time, waiting at their destination in the two highest buildings in our country – the upper station of the cable car and the Meteorological Observatory, as well as 14 km of ski slopes (with FIS approval) on natural snow.
- Kotelnica Białczańska. Kotelnica Białczańska is the largest ski station in Podhale, located in the heart of Białka Tatrzańska. In its over twenty-year history, this most popular ski resort in Podhale has received the honorable title of Poland’s Best Ski Resort as part of the international World Ski Awards seven times in a row. The awards presented in Kitzbuehel, Austria, are colloquially called “skiing Oscars”, and the winners are selected by voting of the best specialists in the ski tourism industry. Such statistics do not surprise anyone – Kotelnica Białczańska is living proof that it is possible to create a state-of-the-art, family-friendly resort in Poland, matching the best Alpine models.
- Szrenica Ski Arena. It is here – in Szklarska Poręba, in the western part of the Karkonosze Mountains, near the border with the Czech Republic – that you can test your skiing skills on the legendary “Wall” (the steepest route in Poland – with a length of approximately 2 km, the difference in levels is as much as 510 m). . Here, skiing enthusiasts will also find 5 wonderful ski slopes with fancy names, such as: The 4.5-kilometer “Lolobrygida”, the over 2-kilometer “Śnieżynka” or the 2-kilometer black route with FIS homologation. In total, Ski Arena Szrenica offers as many as 12 km of slopes with a snowmaking system covering 100% of the area intended for downhill skiing. The resort has a 6-person chairlift called “Karkonosz Express” with an impressive length of 2,393 m. It is the most impressive of the 8 cable cars and ski lifts available on site, with a total average capacity of 10,000 people per hour.
- Jurgów Ski. According to regular visitors to the slopes, there are more beautiful views only on Kasprowy. Therefore, even if we do not intend to stay here longer, it is worth taking a 4-seater chair to the top of Górki Wierch at least once to enjoy the stunning panorama. But landscape values are not everything. A small village located slightly off the trails of the Podhale region, in the Spisko-Gubałowskie Foothills and only 500 m from the border with Slovakia, has become one of the most interesting and dynamically developing ski resorts in the Tatra Mountains in just a few years. In addition, it is intended largely for those more experienced fans of exciting descents. Jurgów Ski is a ski resort offering 9 ski slopes with a total length of 4.5 km. The routes vary in difficulty, and the resort boasts one of the most difficult ski routes in Podhale. The resort has a ski school, equipment rental and a viewing inn.
- PKL Palenica. PKL Palenica is a ski complex located in Szczawnica, managed by Polskie Koleje Linowe (PKL). It includes two main parts: Palenica, which is characterized by demanding routes, and Szafranowka, offering easier routes. The complex is included in the expert list of ski resorts, thanks to its potential and continuous investments in infrastructure development. On Palenica, skiers will find the black piste Palenica I (1,000 m) with FIS approval, intended for advanced users, and the newly opened red piste Palenica II (1,800 m), ideal for intermediate skiers. Szafranówka offers easy routes: Szafranówka I (400 m, already available, although not yet in full width) and Szafranówka II (500 m), which are particularly attractive for beginners and families with children. From January 10, 2025, the driving training route on Szafranówka (Wyrwirączka) and the Żółwik driving training route are also available. The slopes are equipped with artificial snowmaking and lighting systems, which ensures comfortable driving even in the evening.
- Pilsko in Korbielów. The second highest peak of the Polish Beskids (more, Pilsko is the highest mountain in Poland, after Kasprowy Wierch, adapted for downhill skiing) can boast of several aces right from the start. The altitude of over 1,500 m above sea level guarantees an exciting difference in elevation (770 m), the northern exposure of the slopes means that the snow stays here for an exceptionally long time (even until April), and the impressive total length and diversity of routes (from green to black) will please both amateurs and skiers. professionals.
