The mayor of Aljezur, José Gonçalves, and the engineer Fábio Lucas, representative of the company ARQUICONSTRU – Engenharia e Construções, Unipessoal, Lda., formalized, on January 13th, the Work Consignment Notice for the “School Renovation” project. Carrapateira Primary School for the installation of a Cultural and Community Center”.
This intervention integrates the investments approved under the Rural Development Program 2014-2020, Measure 10 – LEADER, Action 10.2 – Implementation of Strategies, Operation 10.2.1.6 – Village Renovation. The project will benefit from community support from PDR 2020, co-financed by EAFRD within the scope of Portugal 2020, in the amount of 103,561.10 euros, non-refundable.
Awarded to the company ARQUICONSTRU – Engenharia e Construções, Unipessoal, Lda., under a contract signed in December 2024, the work represents a total investment of 295,439.39 euros (plus VAT) and will have an execution period of 90 days.
The main objective of the redevelopment is to return a revitalized, multifunctional and inclusive space to the local community of Carrapateira. The works include the recovery, cleaning and reinforcement of the floors and structural walls, as well as the creation of multipurpose spaces for various cultural and sporting activities.
Additionally, a seating area equipped with a field for traditional games will be created, providing an active recreational space for both residents and visitors.
With this intervention, the aim is to promote “the cultural and social dynamism of Carrapateira”, reinforcing the role of local infrastructure in the well-being and cohesion of the community.
