One (A Coruña) by a fishing boat that was fishing in the area and that alerted the police. The ship, about 20 meters long, has been towed to the port of the A Coruña municipality of Camariñas. The submersible was found adrift and it is unknown if it contains cargo inside, although investigation sources suspect that it is empty, so it is assumed that the drug traffickers abandoned the ship once they managed to transfer the merchandise.

After notifying the authorities, the same ship that located the submarine has been in charge of towing it to land. It will be at the Camariñas docks, where the inspection of the submersible will be carried out with specialized equipment.

It has been since August 2006, when a boat that could not even sail was abandoned by drug traffickers off the Cí Islands (Pontevedra). The second, which managed to bring a cache of three tons of cocaine and three crew members, was located 17 years later in the Aldán estuary, also on the Pontevedra coast, and was the first narco-submarine captured in Europe that managed to complete the journey from South America. In March 2023, the third vessel of this type appeared, the second transoceanic. It was found in front of the dock of the port of Vilagarcía de Arousa (Pontevedra). The drug traffickers had managed to unload the drugs and had tried to sink them.
