Minister of the STF gives 15 days for the Union and States to report investigations and sanctions related to the arson attacks of 2024
The minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) Flávio Dino determined this Wednesday (22 January 2025) that the federal and state governments update information on administrative sanctions and police investigations related to the criminal forest fires of 2024.
Dino gave a deadline of 15 dias to comply with the measure. It applies to the 10 states that make up the Amazon and Pantanal regions. They are: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Rondônia, Roraima, To, Maranhão, Tocantins, Mato Grosso e Mato Grosso do Sul. Let’s go (PDF – 134 kB).
Furthermore, the federative units must present, within 30 daysemergency educational action and awareness plans on integrated fire management, in accordance with the new Law, which established the .
Projects must cover publicity and social mobilization actions, “aiming at broad participation of businesspeople and civil society”according to Dino.
