Cristina Ferreira has just launched an intimate perfume called “Pipy” that aims to bring freshness to the female genital region. Gynecologists do not recommend using this type of product.

Intimate perfumes can increase the risk of infections
VIDAs – Portuguese Menopause Association has already criticized the launch of “Pipy” by Cristina Ferreira, considering that “promoting products that perpetuate misinformation it harms women and diverts the focus from what really matters: knowledge, prevention and health”.
“Vaginal health should be a priority, not a market opportunity”, he further criticizes.
“Products that promise to mask natural odors can alter the vaginal microbiota, increasing the risk of infections“, as well as “disguise warning signsdelaying diagnoses”, adds VIDAs, also noting that they can “cause irritation in sensitive skin”, especially during menopause and .
“O natural vaginal odor should not be stigmatized or masked“, adds the Association, highlighting that “persistent or uncomfortable changes need medical evaluation, not cosmetics”.
VIDAs also notes that “products of this type exploit female insecurities and perpetuate the idea that the female body needs to be “corrected” to meet unrealistic beauty standards”, which “stigmatizes intimate health, keeping women away from safe solutions”.
