It could have gone badly: A drunk driver drove the truck off the highway! What punishment is he facing?

The Trenčín police charged the 50-year-old truck driver with threatening under the influence of an addictive substance. With a car full of iron profiles, a drunk driver drove off the highway, where the truck overturned. The Trenčín regional police informed about it on the social network.

The accident happened on Tuesday (January 21) on the D1 highway in the cadastre of the village of Kostolná – Záriečie in the Trenčín district. The police measured 1.52 per thousand of alcohol in the driver’s breath. No one was injured in the accident, the damage amounted to 25,000 euros.

“The police officers restricted the driver’s personal freedom and placed him in a police custody cell. He faces up to five years in prison” added the police.
