City Hall reinforced the communications team of vice-mayor Victor Marques (PC do B), with the mayor’s approval ().
On Saturday (18), the appointments of new members of the vice-mayor’s team were made official.
One of the names that joined the vice-mayor’s office is Rodolfo Loepert, previously responsible for Campos’ image and video records. Now, he will be general manager of photography and communications at Marques.
Loepert is a trusted name of João Campos and entered municipal management in January 2021, when the mayor took office, by personal choice of the manager.
Three other professionals were appointed to Victor’s team: an executive secretary for communications and press, a press relations manager and a social media manager. One of the focuses is to reinforce the digital strategy and try to associate Victor with João Campos’s performance profile.
Currently, Victor Marques is the acting mayor of Recife, during the position holder’s vacation. The vice-mayor will be able to definitively assume command of the city hall in April 2026 if the tendency for João Campos to be a candidate for governor is confirmed.
In addition to vice, . João Campos’ idea is for him to gain popularity by advertising and delivering works in the city. Furthermore, the vice-president will be introduced directly to the public sector, as the previous position — chief of staff — was more bureaucratic.
A friend and college classmate of the mayor, Victor Marques was Campos’ chief of staff during his first term. The 2024 election was the first he contested, directly chosen by João Campos, who wanted a trusted name in the line of succession, bypassing the PT, which was aiming for the vacancy.
