Maike’s cousin, swimmer opens up about beef with Diego Hypolito

Brandonn Almeida broke the silence about his friendship with his cousin Maike, one of the participants of BBB 25, and the controversy involving Diego Hypolito. Gold medalist in the 400m medley at the Pan American Games in Toronto-2015, the swimmer admitted that he has issues to resolve with the former gymnast, but denied that the feud would have influenced his cousin’s action on the reality show.

“Diego and I know each other, yes, we have some friends in common. I think it’s a chat we’ll have out here when he leaves, let’s talk to understand. The boys have always admired Diego’s career as an athlete”, said Brandonn, in an interview with the Leo Dias portal.

“What happens in the house is another dynamic. It’s one thing if you admire the person as a professional and another thing is coexistence within a game. There are questions of strategy, personality and connections that determine the interactions inside. We never We talked about Diego in that sense, we didn’t say anything that could influence their relationship at home”, added the swimmer.

The feud came to a head after Diego and his sister, Daniele, were chosen by Maike and Gabriel for the program’s first Monster Punishment. The public quickly pointed out that Maike’s relationship with his cousin Brandonn Almeida had influenced the action. “I think we had the opportunity to get closer to the boys [Maike e Gabriel]but I had the feeling that it wasn’t just an issue here at home. It’s something external”, he said, in the confessional.

In a conversation within the program, Maike also spoke about the connection with Diego outside of BBB 25. “Our situation is different with Diego. It’s not a question of affinity, it’s another stop,” he told Gabriel, fueling the rumors even further.
