Marcão no Grêmio: onde jogou e como anda a negociação com zagueiro do Sevilla image

Defender Marcão, 28 years old, is of interest to Grêmio and the club from Rio Grande do Sul is trying to make a deal with Sevilla, from Spain.

According to journalist César Luis Merlo, the Grêmio board is trying to secure a loan from the Spanish club, but the negotiation is considered difficult. The proposal is for a one-year contract with an option to purchase.

Marcão arrived at Sevilla in July 2022, after four years in Turkish football, defending the colors of Galatasaray. The investment generated around 12 million euros (around 65 million reais at the time).

The defensive sector is one of the market priorities of the team led by Gustavo Quinteros. Currently, Imortal only has Rodrigo Ely, Jemerson, Gustavo Martins and Natã. Kannemann recovers from injury.

Which clubs did defender Marcão play for in his career?

Marcão started in the youth teams at Athletico Paranaense and briefly spent time at Avaí, on loan, at the beginning of his career as a professional.

Back at the Paraná club, he was loaned again to lower division clubs, such as Guaratinguetá, Ferroviária and Atlético Goianiense.

In the 2017/18 season, he played for Rio Ave, from Portugal, playing in 25 matches, with one goal scored. Afterwards, he spent time in Chaves, with 24 games and three goals.

The transfer to Sevilla, in Spain, was surrounded by expectations, but so far Marcão has not established himself as a starter in Spain.
