A fern needs appropriate conditions to grow properly. This includes, among others, the position, watering and fertilization. In the case of the latter, you do not need to buy store-bought fertilizers because you can easily prepare them yourself at home. This is a cheap, simple and ecological solution that your fern will surely thank you for.
The fern belongs to a group of potted plants that, if not properly cared for, begin to wither and lose their leaves. This may be the result of, among other things, inappropriate watering, poor location or lack of necessary nutrients. and to make it shoot up like a slingshot, it is worth directing your attention to the wall ecological fertilizer from onion peels.
These are considered one of the “kitchen waste”, but in the case of ferns, they can be a source of valuable ingredients. Onion peels contain ingredients such as magnesium, phosphorus and potassium, as well as numerous antibacterial and antifungal compounds.
Thanks to such ingredients, onion peel fertilizer is able to support the fern on many levels. Among others potassium and phosphorus strengthen the root system, while supporting the development of new ones. Also present in the shells vitamins and minerals improve the condition of leaves and support the growth of new ones. Not only is onion peel fertilizer a cheap and natural solution to strengthen ferns, but it is also… very easy to prepare and does not require much work. They will be needed to create a natural conditioner peels from 2-3 onions and a liter of water. It is worth noting that you can use both fresh and dried onion peels.
To create fertilizer, place them in a pot and pour water over them. Cook everything for about 10-15 minutes until the water turns amber in color.
