“I don’t want to hurt Russia. I like Russians and I have always had very good relations with President Putin. We must never forget that Russia helped us win World War II, while losing almost 60 million lives,” Trump wrote in the post. In this context, he further said that he was going to Russia, whose economy, according to him, is failing. At the same time, he asked Putin for a “kindness”. “Settle it and stop this ridiculous war! It’s only going to get worse.” emphasized the old American president.
He also repeated his claim that if he, and not Joe Biden, had been president during the previous election period, the war in Ukraine would not have happened at all. “We can do it the easy way or the hard way – and the easy way is always better. It’s time to make a deal. No more lives should be lost!” emphasized Trump.

In late October, he made a subtle shift in rhetoric and began saying that he can solve the war “very quickly”. After being elected, he softened it even more and says that he will simply “solve” the conflict. He has not yet indicated a specific plan.
