Vienna – A local ex-football professional who was called up to the national team in his heyday was sentenced on Wednesday at the Vienna regional court to two years in prison, six months of which were unconditional, for serious commercial fraud and embezzlement. He was given a conditional sentence of 18 months, subject to a three-year probationary period. “Yes, that’s fine,” the man accepted the verdict. The prosecutor made no statement. The judgment is therefore not final.
