The president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), minister Luís Roberto Barroso, said that he does not see a “harmful future” for Brazil. Barroso also said that the world will get “a little more complicated”. There are three reasons for this: climate change, artificial intelligence and the global discredit of democracy.

Regarding artificial intelligence, Barroso defended its regulation and greater investments in the country in science, technology and innovation. “There will be no salvation in this world without AI”, he assessed.
Finally, the minister mentioned the global discredit of democracy. In his view, social inclusion continues to be the great cause of humanity. “We need attention to authoritarian populism. We cannot fail to recognize that it flows first and foremost from the unfulfilled promises of prosperity and equality for all that democracy has not yet managed to fulfill”, he concluded.
