Goalkeeper Cássio, from Cruzeiro, used social media to vent after a mistake in Raposa’s 1-0 defeat to Athletic, this Wednesday (22/01), in the Campeonato Mineiro.
It was the first test for Fernando Diniz’s team with part of the starters after pre-season in the United States. The next challenge will be against Betim, this Saturday (25th), at 4:30 pm, also in the state championship.
— It was an unfortunate move, the ball ended up deflecting, I tried to find it, but I couldn’t. In the end, Fabrício couldn’t avoid (the own goal), he tried to help. It was unfortunate — declared the goalkeeper.
At the club since May 2024, after leaving Corinthians, Cássio has a contract with Cabuloso until the end of 2027. At 37 years old, the goalkeeper has played 30 games for the team and is a starter for Fernando Diniz’s team.

How was Cássio’s outburst after failure
Criticized by Cruzeiro fans, Cássio spoke out on social media after the match. The goalkeeper, formerly of Corinthians and the Brazilian team, changed his profile photo for one that embraces some of the titles he achieved in his career.
In stories, the archer posted the following message: “Be careful with the opinions of people who know everything, but have achieved nothing.”
The goalkeeper’s virtual attitudes were not well received by the Cruzeiro fans and the veteran was among the main topics on the networks this Thursday morning (23).

This guy here has been playing with his name since the end of last year. He failed in the South American final, failed in the final stretch of the Brasileirão and started the year failing in the USA and the Campeonato Mineiro.

Cássio failed against Athletic?
Cruzeiro lost to Athletic 1-0, after a mistake by goalkeeper Cássio. The game took place in Brasília, at the Mané Garrincha Stadium.
Athletic left-back Nathan crossed from the left and Fabrício Bruno deflected it. Clássico jumped towards the ball, but didn’t reach it and the black and white team opened the scoring.
