The administration of Mayor Gerlen Diniz (PP) will implement an innovative project in Sena Madureira in 2025. This is a full-time school that, for the first time, will include a teaching unit from the municipal network, that is, managed by the City Hall.
In this format, as classes start, students will spend 7 hours at school every day, entering at 7 am and leaving only at 2 pm. “We need to invest in education because education changes people’s lives. This full-time school project aims to change the education of our children for the better”, highlighted Mayor Gerlen Diniz.
This project will be implemented at the Messias Rodrigues Municipal School, located in the runway neighborhood and which also serves students from the Vitória neighborhood.
“Escola Messias was chosen because it already has a structure. For example: There is a sports court, an auditorium and our mayor Gerlen Diniz will also revitalize the swimming pool. We are very optimistic and, at the request of Mayor Gerlen, adopting all measures to ensure that the project is successful. For the first time in Sena Madureira, we will have a City Hall school operating full time”, commented professor Aurelina Pinheiro, municipal secretary of education.
This week there was a meeting with the parents of students who already study at the school. At the time, all information related to the project was passed on and there was no resistance from parents. On the contrary, the vast majority approved the idea.
In addition to the subjects contained in the National Common Curricular Base, the full-time school guarantees other mechanisms to further prepare students.
Initially, the vacancies are being directed to students already enrolled at the Messias school. If there are any remaining vacancies, they will be offered to the community in general. Emphasizing that these are vacancies from the 1st to the 5th year.
As students will stay from 7 am to 2 pm, they will have lunch at the school itself. Lunch will be provided by the City Hall.
