Slovak television will broadcast the fourth episode of the unique of the documentary series Textári, which reveals the creative processes and life stories of the most important lyricists of the Slovak music scene.
In the fourth episode, viewers can watch the story of Milan Lasicuthanks to which they will remember the unrepeatable talent of one of the most important Slovak artists. Milan Lasica was a humorist, playwright, lyricist, actor, singer, but also a philosopher of life who reflected life in Slovakia through humor. His lyrics were not only funny – they were a mirror in which Slovaks could learn about themselves.
He often ended the song with an unexpected punchline, giving listeners an opportunity to reflect on themselves. Maybe that’s why his lyrics became popular, but they never lost their depth. He became a lyricist completely by accident, when the poet Rudolf Skukálek approached him to write reviews about song lyrics.
He became famous as a lyricist in collaboration with Július Satinský and Jaroslav Filipwith whom he created immortal works, such as the album “Bolo nás jedenást”. Their work was able to entertain the masses and at the same time drew attention to important social problems.
Viewers get a glimpse into his privacy through authentic storytelling Hana’s daughter and colleagues. She revealed something that many people did not know about him. “Perhaps father worked in that theater or on television, on stage – as a very cheerful person. I think that’s what he always wanted, to make people laugh all his life. Then it might sound like a paradox to some uninitiated that he wasn’t like that at home. He was rather thoughtful, probing, introverted,” writer Hana Lasicová revealed about her father.
