Man arrested for thefts from residences and vehicle in Quarteira

The Faro Territorial Command of the GNR, through the Criminal Investigation Center (NIC) of Loulé, arrested on January 21st a 38-year-old man suspected of thefts from residences and a vehicle, in Quarteira.

The arrest took place as part of an investigation that took place over approximately four months, involving thefts from commercial establishments and residences in the municipality of Loulé.

During police investigations, GNR soldiers managed to locate the suspect, who was traveling in a stolen vehicle on January 13th. The car was equipped with false registration plates, which were also stolen.

During the operation, the suspect was intercepted and arrested, and various materials were recovered and seized, including: a passenger vehicle, two false license plates, three watches, a cell phone and a lock pick.

The recovered vehicle will be returned to the rightful owner.

The detainee is at the facilities and will be presented, this Thursday, to the Judicial Court of Faro for the application of the respective coercive measures.
