The Faro Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) charged a man with attempted qualified murder, among other crimes, for having tried to attack another with a knife, in August 2024, it was announced this Thursday.

According to a note published on the Faro Public Prosecutor’s Office portal, the 39-year-old accused “searched for the offended party to kill him” after learning that he was corresponding with his girlfriend through a social network.

According to the Public Ministry, the facts date back to August 2024, when the accused, “equipped with a knife”, tried to attack the offended party through the bars of the backyard gate of his house, in Faro, but was unable to do so due to the intervention of third parties. .

The indictment for trial was brought by the public prosecutor of the 1st section of the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) of Faro, and the investigation was conducted by the Southern Directorate of the Judiciary Police.
