The long-awaited list of nominees was revealed this Thursday (23) by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), highlighting a season marked by twists and turns and a strong presence of global productions. The announcement, initially scheduled for January 17, was delayed due to the fires that hit Los Angeles, which also extended the voting period for Academy members.

Among the season’s favorites, the Brazilian film Still I’m Here, directed by Walter Salles and starring Fernanda Torres, gained prominence by winning nominations in two major categories: Best International Film and Best Actress. The intimate plot, which mixes delicacy and intensity, shows that national cinema continues to gain space in the global industry.

Productions such as Emilia Pérez, starring Selena Gomez, the intriguing architectural drama The Brutalist, and the impactful Conclave, which goes behind the scenes of a papal election, lead the race with multiple nominations. Another highlight goes to Anora, a science fiction epic that mixes visual grandeur and philosophical reflection, consolidating its position as one of the favorites for the Best Film award.

This article will be updated as the nominations are announced from 10:30 am (Brasília).
