Fog and ice warnings are valid throughout Slovakia. They were published by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ). Level one warnings are provisionally valid until 10:00 a.m., in some areas until Friday (January 24) in the morning. SHMÚ informed about it on its website.
In districts across the country, meteorologists expect the formation of ice especially at night and in the morning. “Ice formation poses a potential hazard to human activities,” they explained.
The occurrence of fog with a visibility of 50 to 200 meters can represent a potential danger for traffic activities. “The occurrence of fog with the specified visibility is common at the given time of year and area, but it can cause minor damage,” explained SHMÚ.
