“If I had known what I know now, I probably would have run away to save money,” with these words, Megan Diem Easton reinvents the classic runaway bride scene. Rather, they would be the couple on the run from a huge bill. It is about his failed attempt to achieve a cheap or low cost.
That marriage that was intended to be modest… ended up costing the couple $40,000. From Nashville, they got married last year on the premise of scrutinizing and executing “every budget cut I could think of and searching for low-budget vendors for months.”
“When people hear that, they get very worried because they think there’s no way a wedding that I tried to save money on could cost [tanto]”she noted, in information collected by the magazine .
“There are many hidden costs”
“But if you’ve been to a traditional wedding in the last few years, where there’s food, alcohol, a venue, a reception and a good amount of people, those were all weddings that probably cost around or more,” he notes. And it presents the greatest of all problems that the future marriage must face.
“Unfortunately, once you start planning, you’re in the middle of it before you realize how much it’s going to cost you. There are a lot of hidden costs and not a lot of transparency in the wedding world,” Easton said.
