Study shows focus on artificial intelligence and automation to improve consumer experience

The Brazilian retailer should be driven by an expected increase of 71% in technology investments by the end of 2025. The annual global consumer study of Zebra Technologies indicates that technological expansion aims to face challenges such as losses, theft and the need to improve operations to satisfy consumers. Currently, only 29% of retailers adopt prescriptive analysis technologies based on artificial intelligence to prevent losses. However, a significant change is expected, with 56% of traders planning to adopt these tools in the next 3 years.

In addition, over 40% of retailers plan to invest in advanced technologies. Among the new equipment are cameras and sensors of self -service, computational vision and RFID labels, which are effective in preventing losses and improving product traceability.

The research also points to consumer dissatisfaction with the difficulty of accessing locked or protected products and the lack of employees for assistance. Support lack in stores has led one in 5 people to abandon their purchases.

Vanderlei Ferreira, CEO of Zebra Technologies in Brazil, highlighted the operational challenges faced by retailers to meet the demands of consumers, such as the verification of inventories and prices in real time, exacerbated by the scarcity of inappropriate labor and technology.

Infrastructure insufficiency for self -service is also a limiter for the efficiency of the sector. Although 83% of consumers see benefits in these options, 68% consider them insufficient, expressing frustrations with the lack of self -service boxes or non -contact payment options.

To overcome these obstacles, Ferreira suggests that retailers invest in strategies that integrate customers, employees and operations. “Investing in tools that improve inventory management, automate operations and ensure real -time support is essential,” says.
