Eight members of the PCC are convicted of planning to kill Sergio Moro

Eight members of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) were convicted of an attack plan against the senator and former federal judge Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR). The sentence was issued by the Federal Court in Curitiba.

Members of the criminal faction face sentences of up to 14 years and nine months in prison.

The case is being processed in secret.

Remember the case

The First Command of the Capital (PCC) including homicides and kidnapping with extortion. The incident was dismantled by the Federal Police (PF) in March 2023. Former judge and current senator Sergio Moro was one of the targets.

Seven preventive arrest warrants, four temporary arrest warrants and another 21 search and seizure warrants were issued at the time of the incident.

The PF investigation showed that the PCC had scouts who monitored the former judge’s house, as well as his wife, Rosângela Moro, the federal deputy for União Brasil-SP, and their children.

At least ten criminals took turns monitoring parliamentarians, which also included trips outside the state.

Prosecutor Lincoln Gakiya, who has been investigating the faction since the early 2000s, was another target of the group. He became aware of the plan and informed the Federal Police leadership in Brasília, who appointed a delegate to open an investigation.

According to the PF, the criminal organization operated in São Paulo, Paraná, Rondônia, Mato Grosso do Sul and the Federal District. According to investigations, the attacks could occur simultaneously in these five regions.
