Minister declares that there will be no “discontinuity” of the program and that a solution is being negotiated with the Federal Audit Court
The Minister of Finance, , said this Thursday (23.jan.2025) that the government will find a “exit” for payment of Nest egg programaimed at low-income students.
“There will be no discontinuity, I can guarantee that”he declared in an interview with journalists at the headquarters building of the Ministry of Finance.

Haddad said he is not “negotiating in person” an outcome with the TCU, but stated that there was a solution discussed with the Court of Auditors to unlock the payment.
The main irregularity highlighted is the fact that the resources used in the program are not foreseen in the OGU (General Budget of the Union).
“All the guidance we gave in last year’s measures was to budget the Nest Egg in the way that we considered appropriate and which is the same as the TCU considers most appropriate. So, this situation has been pacified in relation to how it should be proceeded from the point of view of program budgeting. Now, it’s just a transition negotiation”said Haddad.
The 2025 Budget, however, has not yet been approved and is awaiting a vote by the National Congress. The Finance Minister signaled that a solution to the issue should come out next week.
