São Paulo beat Guarani 1-0, on Thursday night (23/01), in the third round of the Campeonato Paulista, at Morumbis. The goal was scored by Luciano.

The game also marked Oscar’s return to Morumbis after 14 years. He had a good performance in the match.

With the result, Tricolor is in second place in Group C, with four points. Bugre is first placed in Group B, also with four points.

São Paulo returns to the field on Sunday (26/01), against Corinthians, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), at Morumbis. Meanwhile, Guarani faces Noroeste, on the same day, but at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), at Brinco de Ouro da Princesa.

São Paulo x Guarani: how the game was

The match started with São Paulo pressing and opening the score. After two minutes, Alisson dominated alone at the edge of the area. The midfielder raised his head and crossed just enough for Luciano to throw himself onto the ball and score. Behind the marker, Guarani started to attack. At six, Arboleda missed the pass and João Victor dominated and put his foot towards the goal, but sent it over the top.

Tricolor responded at ten. Alisson played Calleri with a long pass, the Argentine got the better of the run and played low into the area. Luciano and Oscar tried hard, but they didn’t arrive. The next dangerous move was from Bugre. With 19, Caio Mello dominated and took a risk from afar with great danger. The ball knocked paint off the post.

At the end of the first half, São Paulo’s second almost came out. After a perfectly crossed ball, Lucas headed the ball on the ground, and goalkeeper Gabriel Mesquita made the save on top of the line. At 40, Luciano filled his foot in the half-moon after a free throw in the area, but sent it out.
