A man who had the accusations related to the invasion of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, withdrawn due to a presidential pardon was arrested again, this time for illegal possession of weapons.
Daniel Charles Ball, 39, was arrested in Washington, DC, last Wednesday (22), according to court documents related to a case in a Florida court.
Ball had been accused in May 2023 in possession of firearms and ammunition, prohibited crimes for convicted of serious crimes. The materials were seized during a search at his residence, while he was still investigated for allegedly using an explosive device against police during the attack on the capitol.

Among his criminal record are a conviction for domestic assault in 2017 and attacks against police in 2022.
Last Tuesday (21), a federal judge ordered the closing of the Ball process related to the events of the Capitol, after former President Donald Trump granted cleamhood to him and other accused of the attack.

Despite the decision, Ball remained in custody due to the new arrest warrant related to arms charges in Florida.
Ball’s lawyer Amy Collins said her client declared innocent of the new accusations and was never released after the presidential pardon. “We hope these accusations will also be annulled in light of the president’s decision,” said Collins.
The pardon, announced by Trump last Monday (20), included perdons and commuting for several people involved in the invasion of the Capitol and instructed the Department of Justice to end all pending investigations related to the episode.
