Deputy stated that the duplication of BR-381 was an old promise of PT governments and questioned whether it will finally come to fruition; Renan Filho says that work will begin in February
The Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, responded this Friday (24 January 2025) to the criticism of the federal deputy (PSDB-MG) regarding the concession of the duplication of BR-381, in Minas Gerais.
In the post shared on Instagram on the 5th (Jan 23), the congressman states that the work was an old promise from PT governments, but that it never got off the ground. He questioned: “Can miners finally believe the duplication will be completed? Or are we facing another chapter of postponed promises?”
In response, Renan stated that the project will be delivered and that the works for the first 100 days of the contract will be launched on February 6th.
He further replied: “Did you fail to remember that in the FHC government [Fernando Henrique Cardoso] you stateized the federal highways in Minas so that, supposedly, the state government could make the necessary investments and, years later, you returned them, without the ‘promised’ investments and in a worse state of conservation.”
