Ironing is not one of the popular housework of Slovaks. It is therefore not difficult to guess that even cleaning irons is not very popular in this case. However, if we want to present ourselves edited, we must remember both. When it comes to cleaning the iron, it is enough to clean its surface plate once in a while – and you don’t have to buy products from the store. All you need is the products you can find in kitchen cabinets.

Iron cleaning with aluminum foil. A method that is worth knowing

Aluminum foil

The simplest method of cleaning the iron, which is worth taking as a precaution, involves the use of aluminum foil. Most of us have this product at home. Most often we use it to pack or prepare food. This time the silver foil perfectly serves as a means of control of purity.

How? By removing dirt from the heel of a device that we do not see with the naked eye, but which prevent us from ironing. All you have to do is walk through the foil (previously laid on the plate) for approximately 2-3 minutes. It is an excellent way to prevent coloring and burning.

However, if they have already appeared, try one of the following tricks.

The burnt iron often becomes the cause of stains on clothes. Therefore, it is very important to take care of the coating regularly, which we apply to previously washed clothes. However, if there are certain misunderstandings, it is worth acting immediately.

Vinegar and baking powder

Vinegar and baking powder can help restore the original shine. Protect a cloth moistened with vinegar on the plate, protect it with another layer of fabric to prevent the product from penetrating into the board structure. When the center of our activities is ready, we can start work. Pour the baking powder into the material soaked with acetic acid solution and then gently pass through the whole surface with a slightly heated iron. From time to time, check that the stain has started to dissolve. Continue until the stain disappears. Remove the residues with a soft part of the washing sponge.

Salt

The salt method works the same, but it is not always the right solution. Owners of appliance appliances should not be used under any circumstances.
