Russian Security Council Secretary and former defense minister Sergei Shoigu warned that the risk of an armed conflict between nuclear powers is growing, state news agency TASS reported on Friday (24).
TASS quoted him as saying that the growing geopolitical rivalry between large states on the world stage was increasing the risk of such a conflict.
He was also quoted accusing the NATO military alliance of increasing its activities near the eastern flank of Russia and Belarus and of rehearsing offensive and defensive scenarios there.
