Classic faworki are made of shortcrust, thin dough. Grandma Zosia’s recipe is completely different. Faworki from her recipe come out incredibly delicate and fluffy. Its secret recipe saves a lot of time and is as tasty as other carnival desserts.
Fluffy faworki taste wonderful sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with homemade jam. Finger licking dessert!
To prepare this recipe you need:
- 2 cups of wheat flour type 450,
- a teaspoon of baking powder,
- a teaspoon of sugar with real vanilla,
- a pinch of salt,
- 150 g of cream 18%,
- 2 egg yolks,
- whole egg,
- a spoon of spirit.
For frying:
To sprinkle:
Sift the flour with baking powder into a bowl. Add vanilla sugar, a pinch of salt and cream. Add an egg and two yolks. Pour in a spoonful of spirit. Knead a smooth, uniform dough.
Place the dough on a board sprinkled with flour. Roll them out to a thickness of 5 mm. Cut strips about 3.5 cm wide. Divide each of them into 15 cm long rhombuses. Make a 3 cm long incision in each of them. Pass one end of the faworki through the middle.
Pour a liter of oil into the pot. Fry the faworki in batches in well-heated oil on both sides until golden brown.
Drain excess fat from Grandma Zosia’s fried, fluffy faworki on a paper towel. Before serving, sprinkle the dessert with powdered sugar.
