An investigation was opened to determine the cause of the deaths.
More than 100 dead dolphins were found off the coast of Somalia last Thursday.
The cause of the deaths is still unknown, but authorities do not believe it could be associated with toxic waste in the water.
The minister of fisheries and marine resources said that the deaths were not caused by injuries from nets, because the dolphins did not have
wounds or cuts and rules out the possibility that they were victims of toxic waste as no other species was affected.
An investigation is underway and some samples have been taken from the dolphins’ bodies.
110 dolphins were found, but locals returned some bodies to the sea without counting them, so the real number of deaths could be even higher.
