Former president said that there are “trairinhas” in the Chamber bench who voted in favor of the Lula government’s proposal
The former president (PL) said this Friday (January 24, 2025) that federal deputies from his party who voted in favor of the bill are “trairinhas” and should be vetoed from the acronym in 2026 – election year.
Of the 93 congressmen on the bench, only 8 voted in favor of regulating the text in the 1st round of voting on December 17, 2024. Bolsonaro, who is the honorary president of the party, said that supporters in favor of the text “they like a cargoo”.
“There are some traitors there who voted ‘yes’. Most are from a region of Brazil and always like a little cargo, but the bill is high for everyone. We will carry out the appropriate debugging in 2026”said Bolsonaro in an interview with Revista Oeste.

Tax reform is one of the priorities of the government of the president (PT) and the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad. Bolsonaro has been publicly criticizing the text since the beginning of the process.
The PL has the largest bench in the Chamber of Deputies. The wing considered more radical and closer to Bolsonaro has gained space and pressured names more towards the center of the party to take a stance against the government.
