The city of São Paulo was on alert for flooding for around two hours this Friday afternoon (24), which generated a total of 13,190 lightning strikes recorded.
According to Civil Defense, 6,292 rays hit the ground, while others 6.898 were recorded inside the clouds, without touching the ground.
Due to the heavy rain that hit the capital of São Paulo, around 140 mil properties were left without electricity.

The São Paulo City Hall Climate Emergency Management Center (CGE) at 3:27 pm, a situation that remained until 5:35 pm.
Across the metropolitan region, the Fire Department recorded, between 3:30 pm and 6:50 pm, 97 calls for falling trees, 219 for flooding, four for landslides and three for downed electrical wiring. There is no record of victims.
Throughout the afternoon, the city had 33 points of flooding, 29 of which were impassable, according to the CGE. At 6:40 pm, the capital still had six impassable flooding points, two in the north, three in the central region and one in the west.
Heavy rains caused traffic problems. According to the Traffic Engineering Company (CET), the city recorded 1,025 kilometers of congestion in the late afternoon. It was the highest number of the year so far.
