“Severus Alert” was issued by the Civil Defense for the first time in São Paulo
The Civil Defense of the city of São Paulo issued this Friday, for the first time, a “severe alert of storm with risk of flooding and gusts of wind.”
But the warning, issued to the population through SMS, only served to “confirm what people were already seeing”, reports CNN Portugal correspondent in Brazil, Nelson Garrone, describing a scenario of torrential rain, completely stations, completely stations flooded and even the ceiling of a mall due to heavy rain.
Almost 180,000 people were without electricity. For now, there is no registration of deadly victims or injured, but a woman had to be rescued by firefighters on a flooded road.
In the next few hours, there is a forecast of strong wind and hail fall in the city of São Paulo.
