US President Donald Trump’s administration on Friday ordered federal agencies to begin furloughing employees working in diversity, equity and inclusion program positions after ordering them to take paid leave last week. TASR took over the report from the AFP agency.
“The head of each agency, department, or commission shall take steps to terminate employment relationships, to the maximum extent permitted by law, for all positions related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as well as diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA), and environmental justice within 60 days,” reads the order issued by the US Office of Personnel Management.
