A man under the influence of alcohol killed a paramedic with a knife and injured another in the city of Siedlce in eastern Poland on Saturday evening. TASR refers to the PAP agency. The attacker shortly after 6:00 p.m. he called an ambulance and when two paramedics arrived, he attacked them. One of them died of his injuries after being taken to the hospital. The other suffered a wrist injury and required medical treatment.
The perpetrator had more than two per million of alcohol in his blood after the attack. After the incident, he was taken to the hospital, where he is being guarded by the police. In his apartment, investigators found two knives that he probably used in the attack. In response, the Polish trade union of health workers sent a letter to the Ministry of Health and Justice. In it, he requests the immediate adoption of measures against aggression against health workers.
