A video, made by the agency Cenarium, shows how the Brazilians deported from the arrived in Brazil. In the images you can see that they were handcuffed and with their feet chained when they landed at the airport of Amazonas, on Friday (24). The deported, a group of 158 people, 88 Brazilians, were welcomed by who removed the handcuffs and welcomed the deportes who received temporary food and accommodation while waiting for transportation. They were destined for Confins Airport in Minas Gerais, but only left on Saturday (25), because the United States aircraft had a technical failure. In response to the situation, President Lula called a Brazilian Air Force (FAB) aircraft to ensure that the deported were taken to Belo Horizonte with dignity and security.
The deported group took off from Manaus at 4:40 pm (local time) on a FAB (Brazilian Air Force) plane at the request of the Brazilian government. The aircraft is expected to arrive in Belo Horizonte at 9 pm. Unlike the way they arrived in Brazil, on the flight to the capital of Minas Gerais the deported are without handcuffs, by an order by Minister Ricardo Lewandowski, who said it was a “blatant disrespect for the fundamental rights of Brazilian citizens”. FAB organized the transfer of migrants, with the presence of health professionals to ensure well-being during the trip.
