Five people died and one was injured on Sunday morning after a collision between a fire car truck a passenger vehicle in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. Among the fatal victims are two soldiers in the corporation.
The accident occurred on the ERS-486 highway, known as Rota do Sol, at the time of the municipality of Terra de Areia (RS), about 145 kilometers from Porto Alegre.
“The Fire Department truck, provided by the Gramado Unit to operate on the Rota do Sol during the summer, was on displacement to meet an occurrence of rollover on the highway when there was the collision. The circumstances of the accident are being cleared, ”wrote Governor Eduardo Leite (PSDB) on a social network.
The Rio Grande do Sul State Firefighters Association reported that the truck leading the soldiers crashed into the passenger vehicle. In addition to the two military personnel, three occupants of the car died, being a couple and their son.
The dead soldiers were identified as Audrei Alves Camargo and Juliano Baigorra Ribeiro. The names of the other victims were not disclosed.
Governor Eduardo Leite expressed regret for the accident. “May the great value of these military firefighters, who were at the service of life, be never forgotten. I also want ready recovery to the person who is hospitalized, ”he wrote.
