NBC presenter related the film’s title to former president Biden’s episodes of confusion and lack of protagonism in the electoral dispute between Kamala and Trump

Presenter Jimmy Fallon made a joke with the film “I’m Still Here”, starring and nominated for an Oscar in 3 categories. In the program’s opening skit “The Tonight Show”, yes NBCon Friday (January 24, 2025), Fallon said that the film talked about the last 6 months of Joe Biden (Democratic Party) as president of the United States.

Fallon commented on the Oscar nominations. He spoke about “Wicked”, a film that received 10 Academy Award nominations, in addition to “The Apprentice”. When it was time for “I’m Still Here”, Fallon played with the film’s title in English.

Fallon also made fun of President Trump. Sebastian Stan was nominated for an Oscar for best actor playing the Republican and the presenter said that “it was still possible to see that Sebastian was still in the role because he is saying that he already won”.

Fernanda Torres was indicated in the best actress category at the 97th Academy Awards for her role in “I’m Still Here”, by director Walter Salles. The film also received nominations in the categories of best film and best international film. The list of nominees was released on Thursday (23 January 2025).

The film “Emilia Perez”, by director Jacques Audiard, led with 13 nominations. It was followed by the feature films “The Brutalist”, by Brady Corbet, with 10, and “Wicked”, de Jon M. Chu, com 10. “A Complete Stranger”, by director James Mangold, and “Conclave”, by Edward Berger, received 8 nominations each.

Other highlights were the feature films “Anora”, with 6 nominations, “The Substance” e “Dune: Part 2”, who received 5 each.
