1,307,510 voters are invited on Sunday to give up their votes in the Lower Austrian local council elections. People with a second home have not been entitled to vote since this election. A total of 1,940 parties and lists compete in 568 municipalities. It is not chosen in St. Pölten, Krems and Waidhofen on the Ybbs. In contrast to Wiener Neustadt, the three other Lower Austrian statutory cities are voted on for other dates. There is also no vote in Pernersdorf in the Hollabrunn and Vösendorf district. These municipalities elected on January 28th and May 5, 2024. According to Lower Austrian municipal council election regulations, the votes are considered a general municipal elections in 2025 and will therefore also find themselves in the results lists on Sunday.
