and Parma entered the field, this Sunday (26), at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, ready to rehabilitate themselves in the Italian Championship. Better for Milan, who sought a draw twice and, with two goals scored in stoppage time, turned the score around 3-2 in the 22nd round. With the result, coach Sérgio Conceição’s team ended a two-game streak without winning in the competition and reached 34 points in the table, provisionally taking sixth place. Parma, in turn, maintained 20 points and could enter the relegation zone if Verona beat Venezia this Monday (27).

Coming from a draw with Cagliari and defeat to Juventus, Milan played more and were superior in the first half. Despite the dominance and pressure in the offensive field, the home team ran into the yellow team’s block and only managed to finish on goal in the 22nd minute, when Rafael Leão isolated the ball along the baseline. At 23 minutes, however, punishment came. In their first attack, Parma mounted a counterattack, Valeri switched the game to Cancellieri on the right and the attacker counted on a slip by Theo Hernandéz to advance alone and beat goalkeeper Maignan to the right corner: 1-0.

Milan’s response was quick. Soon after, Morata had a shot saved by Suzuki and a goal disallowed for offside. In the 34th minute, Parma’s goalkeeper pushed Pavlovic in the small area and, from the penalty spot, Pulisic hit the left corner to equalize the score. Reijnders almost turned it around in the final minutes, but Suzuki saved the cross shot. At half-time, the San Siro’s big screen showed the image of tennis player Jannik Sinner, a Milan fan, with the Milan trophy, being applauded by the fans present in the stadium.

On the field, Sérgio Conceição’s team took a while to be inspired by the victorious tennis player and the second half started slowly and without creativity from either team. Milan accelerated the match in the final stretch, but another defensive failure, this time when the ball was dropped, allowed Parma to regain the advantage on the scoreboard. In the 34th minute, Camara advanced from the left, crossed the line and sent a cross to a good save from Maignan, but Del Prato took advantage of the surplus and pushed it into the net. Milan launched an attack in the final minutes to at least seek a draw.

In the 42nd minute, Pavlovic even found the net with a header, but the goal was invalidated in the VAR review. At 46, however, Reijnders received a beautiful pass from Musah in the area and touched Suzuki’s left corner to equalize. At 49, Chukwueze took advantage of the surplus in the area and, awkwardly kneeling, took the ball out of the goalkeeper’s reach to turn the score around and guarantee the victory. In the next round, Milan will face their great rival and second-place Inter Milan, on Sunday (2), at 2pm, at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.
