Reese Witherspoon48, has a particularly interesting story to share about jury service.

Last Friday (24), during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, he told how he once had to serve on the jury of a two-week trial in Beverly Hills, a few years after the release of his film “ “.

When it came time for deliberation and the jury had to choose a president, Witherspoon remembered how everyone unanimously pointed to her.

“I! I!” she exclaimed, pointing to herself, while the guest seemed not at all surprised, saying, “Well, yes.”

“I was like, ‘Why did you guys pick me?!’” Witherspoon responded. “And they said, ‘You went to law school.’”

This, of course, was a reference to her character Elle Woods in the 2001 film “Legally Blonde,” in which she enters Harvard Law School to be close to the man she loves (“What, like it’s hard?”).

She then said she explained to the other jurors that she “definitely didn’t go to law school” and that didn’t finish college. “Like, I was a lawyer in a movie once!”

Witherspoon went on to say how important it is to serve on the jury, as “some bad things happen in there” because “people don’t know much about the law.” Regarding the case, she explained how some jurors wanted to convict the defendant because they didn’t like her appearance.

When your program colleague, Will Ferrellasked what the verdict was, Witherspoon explained how, in the end, it was a simple matter of someone breaking the basic rule of never putting a hand in a dogfight. “What your mother always told you, don’t put your hand in a dog fight!” Witherspoon said.

Ferrell then joked, “I always told my kids, ‘Put your hands in dogfights!’ I feel terrible!”

Witherspoon and Ferrell will soon reunite in Amazon Prime’s new wedding comedy “Cross Weddings,” due out in January 30th.
