Trump proposes to “clean” Gaza sending its population to Egypt and Jordan
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Saturday that Jordan and Egypt should host more displaced Palestinians of Gaza, a formula to “clean” the strip that is aligned with the postures of the most ultra wing wing of the Israeli political spectrum.
After maintaining a telephone conversation with King Abdullah in Jordan, Trump has reported what he said: “I would love to welcome more [desplazados palestinos] Because I look at Gaza’s strip right now and it’s a mess, a real mess. ” “I would like to welcome more people,” he told the journalists who were traveling with him on the presidential plane. “I would like Egypt to welcome people,” he added, stating that he will talk to the Egyptian President Abdelfatá al Sisi this Sunday. “We talk about a million and a half people, and thus we clean everything,” he said.
The population of Gaza was approximately 2.3 million people before the war with Israel. Egypt and Jordan, who host millions of Palestinian refugees, have always repudiated this idea for understanding that it would be a new Nakbathe “catastrophe” that represented the Palestinian exodus of 1948, and the elimination of all hope for the constitution of a peace solution of two states.
Trump has supported his proposal in the state of destruction of Gaza. “It is literally a demolition zone, everything is destroyed and people are dying, so I prefer to get involved with some Arab countries to build homes in other locations where [los gazatíes] maybe they can live in peace to vary. ”
The official Washington position so far is contrary to the forced displacement of the Palestinians. However, Trump’s proposal is in line with the positions of the most ultras Israeli political sectors. For example, the leader of the Ultra Otzma Yehudit party and former national security minister Itamar Ben Gvir, has congratulated himself in an X message of Trump’s proposal “to transfer Jordan and Egypt to residents of Gaza.” Remember that one of its proposals to the Israeli government is to “promote voluntary immigration” and claim Benjamin Netanyahu to implement it, in view of the fact that Trump himself does.
