This is the second attack on this plant in recent days.
Ukraine launched a drone attack on a Russian oil refinery in the Ryazan region south of Moscow on Sunday night. This is the second attack on this plant in the past few days, TASR informs, according to a report by the AFP agency.
The Ukrainian military said it “again hit the facilities of the Ryazan refinery”. According to Kyiv, it is one of the four largest refineries in Russia, which is also used by the air force. “Explosions and fire were recorded in the target area,” it clarified.
The governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, announced that Russian air defenses had “destroyed” the drones over the area. He also added that the authorities were assessing the damage.
“The systematic and targeted destruction of facilities that supply the Russian occupation army with fuel, lubricants and military equipment will continue until the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is completely stopped,” the Ukrainian army stated in a statement already on Friday.
